Robert
Fox is the
President and founder of The TOC Center, Inc. After receiving
an Engineering degree from the University of Notre Dame, he started his
business career as a foreman at Kaiser Steel. He returned to school to
earn a M.S. in Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon University and
then divided the next twenty years between a variety of line and
consulting experiences including General Manager, Vice President of
Manufacturing and President.
In 1981, he resigned as a
Vice President with the International Consulting firm of Booz, Allen &
Hamilton to join with Eli Goldratt in developing new ways to make western
industry more competitive. In 1986, he and Eli formed The Goldratt
Institute to more aggressively develop and spread this know-how which has
come to be called The Theory of Constraints (TOC). In 1993, Bob and Eli
decided they could more effectively accomplish their mutual goals by more
formally segmenting their efforts. Bob founded The TOC Center to help
companies successfully apply and benefit from the TOC know-how.
Mr. Fox has authored
numerous articles on management practices and co-authored The Race and
The Theory of Constraints Journal with Eli Goldratt. He is a frequent
speaker before industry and professional groups.
Bob's view about the future of TOC is available for viewing in the
